[Hated Hero and the New Maid]

Eureka—the girl I had met at the monster-subjugating part-time job.

I’d suspected that she was 《Sorceress Eureka》— a member of the hero party in【The Rise of the Weakest Holy Swordsman】, but upon further thought, it didn’t seem possible that there was a chance for her and Barrett to come into contact with each other in the original storyline, which led me to second-guess that she wasn’t her.

But now it turned out that Eureka was Tayte’s new personal maid, and would be accompanying her to the academy after the vacation.

With this being the case, it was almost certain that Eureka was the same Eureka of the hero party in the original storyline.

Now, what should I do, then…

◇◇◇

Dinnertime.

I told my parents how my life at the academy had been.

Since a lot of troubles had occurred at the academy such as Raul’s berserk case and the incident during the ball, they apparently had been worried sick at home, but once I told them how Tayte and I had been enjoying our school life peacefully, they patted chests in relief.

My sister, Reina, on the other hand, gave me a warning, “I know that you guys are so lovey-dovey now, but you’d better exercise some restraint in public.

You never know what others may do out of envy.”

“W-were we always that conspicuous”

“Not every day at least, but… you two frequently became lost in your own world out of the blue, you know”

H-hmmm… I never noticed that, though.

I didn’t doubt Reina’s analytical skills, and I remembered receiving similar comments from Jarvis once in a while.

When I moved my gaze to Tayte, I found her facing down, beet red.

It seemed that she’d never noticed it, either.

Then, I caught Reina muttering to herself, “If only Mr.

Abel was still a student, then we could have also…” but as a considerate little brother, I pretended not to notice.

Once dinner was over, I returned to my room with Tayte.

There, we chatted and went over our plans for tomorrow over tea that Marina and the others brewed for us.

Unlike in the academy, where we had to return to our rooms once it was time for the lights to be off, we could talk until we were sleepy here.

But regardless, we mustn’t stay up late.

The reason being, we were going on a picnic tomorrow

Being located at a high altitude, the temperature in this summer resort was cool and comfortable even during summer.

The surrounding nature was mostly untouched, and spectacular views were everywhere.

Perfect for a date.

Of course, considering our status, we couldn’t go just the two of us.

My three maids—Marina, Priim, and Rebecca—and Eureka were going to accompany us.

Apparently, my three maids had taken a liking to Eureka, especially Marina; she’d declared loudly, “We will take the responsibility of raising this child to be a splendid maid!”

As such, even as Tayte and I were chatting, they were still giving a lecture to Eureka on what it meant to be a maid.

“Eureka is so enthusiastic,” Tayte said.

“Right…”

…How unbelievable.

Eureka listened to Marina and the others with a serious look on her face.

Earnest, obedient, and bright—just why would such a girl join (former)Barrett’s party and become an accomplice in his evil deeds

I believed Jarvis had no other options so as to keep the secret about her real gender, but… in Eureka’s case, I totally had no clue.

What would happen in the future that would cause her to turn the way she was in the original storyline

“Oh, that reminds me, it seems that tomorrow’s party will be exciting!” Tayte exclaimed with a clap of her hand.

“Y-yeah, I know right I heard a lot of people have been invited, so it will definitely be lively.

It’s something to look forward to.”

The day after tomorrow, the Alberses were going to host a small party.

It happened annually, and the mayor of Risten and other nobles would be participating.

“I hope it will be sunny tomorrow♪.”

“Yeah.”

We smiled at each other as we prayed for clear skies tomorrow.
