Chapter 135 Exasperation

News of Xiang Ning’s arrival at Hanwu Academy spread through the entire school.

Headmaster Li Bu, who was sitting in his office, had his brows knitted as he glared at Qi Jiuming out of the corner of his eye.

Qi Jiuming was sitting next to him, leisurely sipping a cup of tea.

“Qi Jiuming, aren’t you going to stop him” asked Li Bu, sulking.

“I’m here to drink tea with you, everything else is none of my business,” chuckled Qi Jiuming.

“Nonsense.” Li Bu rolled his eyes.

“There’s people watching Xiang Ning closely from the top.

To them, what your students did was just another form of training for him.

You don’t have to intervene either, just sit with me and watch.”

“Do they really see that much potential in the kid” Li Bu was puzzled, seeing as they were using his own students as whetstones for Xiang Ning.

While it was terrifying that the brat was a tier two martial artist with two Peak Mastery skills at just sixteen, they were just the most basic techniques.

If he had achieved Peak Mastery in a martial skill beyond tier two, he would be comparable to the people in Kyoto.

Qi Jiuming shook his head, too lazy to explain.

He had a good relationship with Lei Zhongyuan, and had gotten some information from him.

This kid was both a spiritual cultivator and martial artist, even advancing both aspects at the same time.

That was an insane talent.

Now, he had even attained Assimilation for his Shadowmist Ghost Step, which was terrifying news because the kid had only had it for three days!

......

On the other end.

Zhao Huatai directly led Xiang Ning to Hanwu Academy’s martial arena.

With the military behind Hanwu Academy, they had an arena that was bigger than Qiling Academy’s.

It was the size of two basketball courts, completely equipped with weapons and everything else that was needed.

“You’ve got a pretty huge arena here.” Xiang Ning smiled and stepped on the platform.

The seats in the bleachers above them were completely filled; even the walkways were filled with standing people.

“I’m here to watch the fight.

Is that Xiang Ning from Qiling Academy He’s bold, sure, but also just a little stupid.

I can’t believe he came alone.”

“Does he really think we’re the same as the trash school he last challenged”

“Hmph, don’t celebrate too early.

If we lose, our seniors will look down on us upper-first year students and our future juniors won’t respect us anymore!”

The rest who heard him did not take it to heart.

Xiang Ning had come alone, while Hanwu Academy had a total of more than a hundred students in their special training class alone.

More than twenty students had also advanced to tier two after returning from the wilderness activity, some even achieving the Awakened stage for their martial skills.

What was Xiang Ning thinking

Xiang Ning was now struggling with a dilemma.

There were too many people here; if he activated Taunt, was it possible that some would lose their minds and attack him But for Fury Points and to strengthen himself, he had to take the risk.

Before he began…

“Uh, students under tier two needn’t come because I’ve recently had a breakthrough and might not be able to control my strength.

Do you understand” he solemnly said without the Taunt function, thinking he was doing them a favor.

Tier one students didn’t earn him enough Fury Points, and even if he let them hurt him on purpose, they couldn’t give him many Experience Points, either.

It would be a waste of time and could add to his injuries.

However, the students of Hanwu Academy interpreted it differently.

“What the hell How arrogant is this guy Do you know what you’re implying He’s looking down on tier one martial artists!”

“No, no, I’m not disrespecting tier one martial artists.

Even I had to start from somewhere! Uh, it’s just that I hit very hard and it’s difficult to control my strength.” He felt like he had given a clear explanation, and since it was the truth, they should understand.

Yet when he saw the number of Fury Points, he wondered if this was just a bad-tempered bunch.

Why were they giving him so many points Did he do something to anger them

“I’m Tian Ling of Hanwu Academy, a tier one, eight-star martial artist.

Let’s fight!” Tian Ling held an iridium staff in his hand.

He struck the ground hard, immediately forming cracks in it.

“Tier one, eight-star Hey, I’m telling the truth, I can’t control my strength.” Xiang Ning thought he was already going out of his way to be considerate.

“He’s so arrogant! Go Tian Ling, beat him up!”

“This is ridiculous!”

“I’ll fight you to death!” Tian Ling unleashed a roar, then disappeared in a flash as he charged toward Xiang Ning.

“I’ll break your bones!” he yelled, brutally bringing his staff down toward Xiang Ning’s waist.

A ‘whoosh’ sound could be clearly heard.

Xiang Ning had no choice.

“Alright, I apologize in advance then.” As he spoke, his iridium sword appeared and his gaze sharpened, then he activated the Shadowmist Ghost Step.

Tian Ling’s eyes widened.

How could he be so fast!

A powerful gust of pure energy radiated from Xiang Ning, then he brought down his sword with the force of an avalanche.

Tian Ling snapped back to his senses, immediately blocking the incoming attack with the staff he had previously thrust out to attack.

Boom!

The staff flew out of Tian Ling’s grip upon blocking the brutal strike, hitting the ground so hard that it splintered.

Tian Ling was blasted backward, the flesh between his thumb and index fingers split.

He finally landed on the ground, sputtering a mouthful of blood.

Xiang Ning wanted to give him a healing pill, but two teachers quickly rushed out—one to protect Tian Ling behind his back, another squatting to inspect him.

“The bone in his forearm is fractured and he’s sustained severe internal injuries, he needs to be treated in the recovery capsule!” the teacher solemnly declared.

“Xiang Ning, don’t you think you hit too hard” accused the other teacher with furrowed brows.

Xiang Ning’s mouth twitched, exasperated.

“I did warn that students below tier two shouldn’t come forward, so what else was I to do”

Fury Points 111

The teacher’s eyes turned cold. This brat sure is arrogant!

“Han Wen, you’re up next!”

“Yes, Sir!”

Within the crowd, a teenager stood up.

A layer of metallic liquid spread from his wrist, enveloping his body.

“Common Mk.

2 Armor.” Xiang Ning immediately recognized its make.

It wasn’t a top-tier battle armor like Crescent, Roaring Tiger, or Dragon’s Cry, just a common-grade one; but it was still enough for spiritual cultivators above tier one, six-star to challenge opponents above them.

“I’m Han Wen of Hanwu Academy, a tier one, nine-star spiritual cultivator.

Please enlighten me!” Han Wen’s body was covered in a mysterious gray substance that looked incredibly intimidating.

Xiang Ning wasn’t threatened, because Han Wen didn’t have the physique of a strong martial artist.

He knew his opponent would meet a very pitiful fate.

“Uh, how about this—students who aren’t both spiritual cultivators and martial artists, I think they shouldn’t fight either, alright” Xiang Ning used a diplomatic tone, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if it still earned him hundreds of Fury Points or a few knives flying at his head.
